New Beginnings - September 2011
September gives us another ‘new year’. For our children and young people especially, it is a time when they start at new schools or in new classes. They learn about new things; they make new friends. Others are moving away from home to start at colleges and universities or in new jobs. The new can be exciting, but it can also be a worrying time.
With September we are also reminded that all things are passing, as the morning mists and darker evenings herald the onset of autumn.
In Revelation 22.13 Jesus says:
I am the Alpha and the Omega,
the first and the last,
the beginning and the end.
So we pray:
Lord, be the beginning and end of all we do and say.
Prompt our actions with your grace,
and complete them with your all-powerful help.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
