CORONAVIRUS UPDATE - 1st September 2021
A message from the Standing Committee about how our Sunday worship will continue.
Services in September 2021
As we move into September, we are cautiously moving ahead with our services. You no longer have to reserve a seat, but we will still ask you to 'sign in', sanitise your hands and wear a mask throughout the service. Communion will still be wafer only.
Weather permitting, we will continue to sing a hymn outside at the beginning, sing a closing hymn and receive a Blessing outside the service. Coffee will then be served.
We ask people to respect those who wish to distance, but if you would like to sit with another member of the congregation, and they are willing, this will be permitted.
There will no longer be recorded services from St. Laurence, but within the Team there are online services available each week from St. Mary Redlynch, St. Andrew - Landford, and, of course, from Salisbury Cathedral.
Downton Christmas Tree Festival
Thanks to all our wonderful exhibitors, volunteers and visitors the Downton Christmas Tree Festival raised just over £1,600 this year. The organisers: Susan Tyler, Philipp Merrill and Wiz Gerschwiler were able to hand a cheque for £800 to Alison Sankey, chair of the Wiltshire Family Counselling Trust. Thanks too to Mark Merrill who organised the entertainment and who took the photograph. The remaining funds go towards the building repair fund at St Laurence where we hope you will join us for the festival next Christmas!
In our cycle of prayer for our community, during September 2021 we will be
