Lent Course - see Praying Together page for full details.
This year for Lent we are running a Pilgrim Course: The Eucharist - exploring why The Eucharist is celebrated as a memorial of Christ’s saving passion and stands at the very heart of Christian worship.
These sessions are on Wednesdays 3.00 pm – 4.30 pm, starting on 14th February, at Downton Vicarage, Barford Lane. Contact: Rev Frank Gimson 01725 510326
Lent Lunches
Frugal lunches will be hosted by various people in the village during Lent.
There is an open invitiation to anyone to attend - please support the lunches again this year to raise funds for Christian work in the Sudan, as well as enjoying some home-made soup and a chance to chat with friends or meet new people.
Please contact the organiser for details of venue and timing, and to book your place, as numbers may have to be limited.

O LORD, hear my prayer (Psalm 143:1)
Over Lent at St Laurence we are setting time aside to pray;
asking God to inspire and renew us as his Church.
We shall meet each Monday at 6pm for about an hour
starting on 19th February in The Meeting Room in Church (it will be warm!)
Please do join us.
If you are unable to come, please do pray whenever you can – wherever you are.
Speak, for your servant is listening (1 Samuel 3:10)

Trussell Trust Christmas Appeal 2017
A huge thank you to everyone for your very generous support for our Trussell Trust Christmas Appeal.
Our collection of special Christmas items weighed in at amazing 117.3kg and included lots of savoury and sweet biscuits and snacks, chocolates, Christmas puddings and cakes, and tins of ham.
Thank you also to the group of volunteers who spent an evening at the foodbank warehouse in Salisbury. We packed a total of 30 family and 23 single special Christmas boxes – a fantastic effort.
The Trussell Trust is very grateful for all our support.
Now that we have our new facilities, we'd like to say -
Pop in for
Coffee and Company
Mondays 10.30 - 11.30 am in St Laurence Church
PLEASE NOTE: There will be no Coffee and Company during February and March. We hope to start again in April, using the meeting room at the back of church, which can be heated.
Coffee will not be served on Bank Holidays or if there is a service in the church.
