St Laurence Church:
Trussell Trust Christmas Appeal 2017
We want to help the Trussell Trust to ensure that local people in need, some spending Christmas
on their own, will be able to enjoy the special foods that we take for granted.
To support our appeal, please see our
Helping in the Community page for details
of the items we are particularly collecting this year.
Thank you to everyone who donated food or money at the Harvest Festival service on 1st October.
Due to your generosity we were able to deliver 90.1kg of food and £39 in cash to the Foodbank.
This is in addition to our regular monthly collection - through which we have now donated an amazing
5 tonnes of food since we started in 2006.
Goose Fair 2017
A very big
thank you
to everyone who helped in so many different ways to make the Goose Fair such a success.
The church looked wonderful, filled with crafts of every kind, home-made and home-grown
produce, bygones, as well as the exhibition by the Downton History Group.
The delicious refreshments were much appreciated, as were the children’s games and raffles.
The day was enjoyed by visitors and helpers alike, and raised much needed funds for the church.
Thank you one and all!
Now that we have our new facilities, we'd like to say -
